Privacy Policy for Heretoday

This Privacy Policy explains how Happsband LLC handles information for Heretoday.

Information we collect

We collect account information such as email and username, content you share, quick comment presets you save, usage data, location data when you grant permission, photo metadata from photos you choose to upload, and support, privacy request, report, or legal request details you submit. Location data may include your device coordinate for nearby features and photo GPS metadata or capture timestamp from selected photos.

How we use information

We use your information to operate the app, personalize your experience, communicate with you, respond to support and privacy requests, keep the community safe, investigate reports, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, perform authorized admin review of reported content/account context, and improve reliability.

Legal bases and regional rights

Depending on where you live, we may process personal information to perform our agreement with you, with your consent, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as safety, security, support, fraud prevention, product reliability, and service improvement. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, object, withdraw consent, or opt out from certain processing.

Location and nearby features

If you grant location permission, Heretoday may use your current location to show nearby places, estimate distances, support nearby search, help add location context to posts, provide Nearby Top travelers, and check whether a favorited place is nearby. Nearby favorite alerts are optional and may require Always Location so the app can check while closed. You can turn these alerts off in Push notifications and can change location access in iOS Settings. We do not display your raw coordinates publicly, and sponsor reports do not include precise location.

Photo metadata

When you choose photos to upload, Heretoday may read embedded metadata such as GPS coordinates and capture time to help verify or suggest post context. This metadata is used for the upload and post workflow and is not shown publicly as raw coordinates.

Sharing

We share information only as needed to provide the service, such as with trusted infrastructure, authentication, storage, notification, advertising, analytics, AI, security, and support providers, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.

Place listings and affiliation

Some app surfaces may include labeled ads or sponsored placements. Unless explicitly labeled as sponsored or officially partnered, references to places and landmarks are independent and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Place content scope

Heretoday may list destinations associated with mature themes (for example, nightlife or red-light areas) as part of travel discovery. Listings are informational and not endorsements. You are responsible for deciding what is appropriate for yourself or minors in your care.

AI-assisted place content

To provide features like Fun Fact, Best Time, History, place illustrations, and safety checks when enabled, we may process place text, place-image prompts or assets, submitted text, or submitted media through automated rules, on-device analysis, AI-assisted systems, or trusted providers. If broader language or localization features are enabled later, we may also process place text through AI-assisted translation systems. Safety checks are used to help detect policy violations and prevent misuse, not to sell private content. Place content and illustrations are for informational planning, may be stylized or inaccurate, and should be verified with official sources before important decisions.

Travel Creator highlights

To operate Travel Creator highlights, we may store whether a profile is an active Travel Creator, related admin approval metadata, and audit records. We use this only to rank a limited number of privacy-visible creator posts and show a subtle label in My Experience. This does not override profile privacy.

Ads, Rewards, and Photo Downloads

Heretoday may use advertising services, including Google AdMob where enabled, to show labeled ads and optional rewarded video ads, including for heavier photo-download use after a daily free allowance. When you download your own post photos, we request photo library access so the app can save the selected photos to your device. Ad providers may process ad request, impression, device, consent, and advertising identifier signals according to their own policies. Where required, we use consent tools and Apple tracking permission before requesting personalized ads or tracking. If you decline tracking permission, ads may still appear but may be less personalized. Where Google UMP requires ongoing privacy options, Account > Ad Privacy Options opens Google's in-app form so you can manage or withdraw ad consent. You can also change Apple tracking permission in iOS Settings. When ad features are disabled, Heretoday does not request live ads for those disabled surfaces. To plan, operate, and report future direct sponsorships, we may process aggregate destination demand counts, such as detail views and favorites for a city, country, landmark, venue, or activity. When direct sponsored placements are active, we may also process aggregate sponsored campaign metrics, such as ad impressions, taps, likes, comments, hides, reports, and sheet opens. These aggregate reports do not include user IDs, raw search text, private content, precise location, IP addresses, or device identifiers.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we process device push tokens, app/device metadata, language preference, notification preferences, and delivery status so we can send and troubleshoot device alerts. When broader language support is enabled, some alerts may be localized where supported. Nearby favorite alerts may use your current location to check whether a favorited place is nearby and may require Always Location for alerts when Heretoday is closed. You can manage push categories in-app and can disable OS-level notifications or location access in iOS Settings. In-app Activity notifications may still appear even when push alerts are off.

Public content

Posts, comments, profile details, and other content you choose to share may be visible to others. You control what you choose to share. Basic profile information such as username, profile photo, badge, and experience level may also appear with public interactions like likes, favorites, comments, mentions, search, and activity. Profile visibility controls normal user-to-user access to your full profile and posts. It does not prevent authorized Happsband admin review of reported content, reported profiles, or related account context when needed for safety, moderation, support, legal requests, or policy enforcement.

Top travelers

If you opt in to Top travelers, we may use your username, profile photo, badge, experience points, rank, and approximate local context to show Nearby and Global leaderboard rankings. You can turn this off in Profile Privacy, and the default is off.

Linked accounts

Social links on profiles and My Experience posts are user-submitted and may be publicly visible. We do not independently verify linked account ownership. If you believe a link is unauthorized or impersonates you, email contact@happsband.com for review.

Rights reports

For safety and abuse concerns, use in-app reporting. For non-consensual intimate image or video content, including AI-generated, altered, or digitally forged intimate depictions, use the specific in-app report reason where available or email contact@happsband.com. Valid requests should include content-identification details, contact information, authority to act, a good-faith no-consent statement, accuracy certification, and electronic signature. For copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights concerns, email contact@happsband.com. We use submitted information, content identifiers, media keys, matching metadata, valid-request attestations, signatures, and reviewer notes to investigate, communicate with involved parties, preserve records where appropriate, and take action such as removal, restriction, known-copy handling, or account enforcement.

Reports, safety, and moderation

When users submit in-app reports, authorized Happsband admins may review related information such as reporter account details, reported account, profile, or content identifiers, reported photos, posts, comments, profile details, report reason, timestamps, and limited surrounding context needed to investigate. This may include content whose normal visibility is restricted by profile privacy settings. We use this information to investigate abuse, enforce policies, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, and respond to appeals or support requests.

Admin review and audit records

Authorized Happsband admins may review reported content, reported profiles, account details, and related context only for safety, moderation, support, legal requests, policy enforcement, abuse prevention, appeals, or compliance. We may keep internal audit records of admin access, queue views, status changes, and moderation, privacy, or takedown actions, including the admin account, affected account, content, request, or report identifiers, action, reason, timestamp, and limited before/after status or metadata. These records support accountability, security, legal compliance, dispute handling, and fraud prevention, and are not intended to include raw report text, private content copies, precise location, IP addresses, device identifiers, or tokens.

Support and privacy requests

When you submit a support, privacy, or legal request, we process the details you provide, your account identifiers, contact email, region when provided, request code, verification status, due dates, response notes, and action history so we can verify, respond, and document completion.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. After account deletion, we delete or de-identify personal data, except limited records we must retain for legal, security, safety, rights-claim, dispute, audit, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.

Accuracy notice

Place details may change over time. Verify hours, closures, pricing, and access rules with official sources before visiting.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, edit supported My Experience post details, delete content, manage notification, location, and ad privacy options where available, and manage your account in-app, including permanent deletion. For help, email contact@happsband.com.

Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or opt-out from certain processing. Signed-in users can make a request in Account > Privacy Request for their own account. Parents, guardians, non-account holders, or anyone who cannot access the account should email contact@happsband.com with enough information for us to verify and respond.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.

Changes

We may update this Policy periodically. Continued use of Heretoday means you accept the updated Policy.

Controlling language

Heretoday may provide translated versions of this Privacy Policy for convenience. If a translated version differs from the English version, the English version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.
